Ramps at stations
Mini ramps
Mini ramps are now available at 57 step-free and step-free interchange Tube stations.
Mini ramps were developed after some customers told us the step/gap on step-free from street to train platforms is a barrier to them being able to get on and off Tube trains confidently.
Mini ramps cover the small remaining step and gap between the platform and the train. They particularly help customers who use mobility aids with small or swivel wheels, offering them additional comfort and reassurance.
To use a mini ramp, ask for help from staff or press the information button on a help point. A member of staff will be happy to lay one down for you.

Boarding ramps
Boarding ramps are available on Tube, London Overground and Elizabeth line services to help you get on and off the train at step-free from street to platform stations. These platforms have a large step and gap between the platform and train.
Boarding ramps are quick and easy to use. Staff are trained to use them and will be happy to help you use one. If you would like to use a boarding ramp, ask for help from staff or press the information button on a help point.

How staff will help
Staff will help you in these ways:
- Staff at the station will lay down a mini ramp or boarding ramp to help you get from onto the train
- If a mini ramp or boarding ramp is needed at your interchange or destination station, staff at your departure station will contact the station to make sure a member of staff is waiting on the platform to meet you and help you get off the train by laying down a mini ramp or boarding ramp
If you need step-free access onto the train, use the accessibility features of the TfL Go app or select 'accessibility and other travel options' in Journey Planner, and select 'I need step-free access from street to the train'.
If you prefer to plan your own route, use the Tube map for an overview of step-free access and the step-free Tube guide for detail, including which stations have ramps and step-free interchanges.
