Northolt station step-free access

We're making Northolt Tube station step-free. This will benefit thousands of customers in the area and make the station, which is on the West Ruislip branch of the Central line, more accessible for all.

What we're doing

We're building a new footbridge from the ticket office with a lift down to the platforms.

We'll also upgrade the public toilet to a fully accessible unisex customer toilet. The existing toilet will close from early April 2025.

How we're doing it

The station will remain open throughout and continue to serve by the West Ruislip branch of the Central line.

From 16 March 2025, the width of the island platform will be reduced by temporary hoarding. There will be station staff on the platform to monitor crowding levels and ensure customer safety.

We'll ensure any disruption to our neighbours is minimised while construction work is ongoing.

Once completed, Northolt station will be step-free from street to the platforms. We'll offer boarding ramps to help customers with accessibility needs board trains.

A more accessible Tube network

The number of step-free stations in London has increased by more than 20% since 2016.

Design work is happening in different areas of London to create more step-free stations on the Tube. This is part of the Mayor's ambitious goal to make half of Tube stations step-free by 2030.
