Sustainability
Our central purpose
We keep London moving to make the city as safe, sustainable and inclusive as possible, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Our Corporate Environment Plan sets out how we're meeting the needs of today while preparing for a future where we continue to serve London for generations to come.
The TfL Business Plan and Budget details how we plan to invest to address the climate and ecological emergency. We're also required to produce a Climate Table in the Mayor's Budget to forecast activities and expenditure.
Our Annual Report also sets out progress on sustainability, including related financial disclosures.
Corporate Environment Plan
Our Corporate Environment Plan guides us to be a more sustainable organisation with five focus areas to support the Mayor's ambition for London to be zero carbon by 2030.
Energy and carbon
We have science-based targets setting out our path to net zero. These have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, a globally recognised climate action organisation. Find out what we're doing to reduce our carbon consumption and emissions.
Climate change adaptation
We want a safer and more sustainable future for the communities we serve. Our first pan-TfL adaptation plan details how we will adapt to climate change through a coordinated and comprehensive plan.

Green infrastructure and biodiversity
We're playing our part in creating a greener, more biodiverse and inclusive city that is better adapted to the changing climate.
Our green infrastructure includes trackside vegetation, wildflower verges, street trees and rain gardens. Our work to make these areas thrive benefits people living, working and exploring London, and wider society, as well as TfL itself.

Youth panel
The TfL Youth Panel's 2023 report - 'Tomorrow's TfL' - followed a year-long exploration into the intersection of equity, diversity and inclusion with environmental sustainability. See the report on the TfL Youth Panel page.
